TRE meets Formula Student Germany

Motorsport is rooted in the DNA of TRE GmbH. That’s why we were there again this year at the big Formula Student Germany (FSG) event at the Hockenheimring.
This year, due to Corona, team sizes were limited and no spectators or members of the press were allowed in the competitions. Nevertheless, TRE was represented with its partner IAV, after the pandemic-related break in 2020, from August 16 to 21, 2021 in Hockenheim. There, TRE presented the company’s own R8 at its booth, setting a highlight among the teams.

Many good technical discussions with the young students showed how far Formula Student has developed in the meantime. TRE was not only able to explain its different fields of application (especially our 7-poster), but also to present itself as an attractive employer.

The three vehicle classes – combustion engine, e-drive and driverless – were able to set new standards after the long break. It was very noticeable that many teams had given intensive thought to their vehicles during the Corona break. A total of 80 teams from Europe took part in the various competitions at the Hockenheimring. The overall victory in the internal combustion engine class went to the team from Esslingen University of Applied Sciences. The “Greenteam” from the University of Stuttgart won in the electric motors category and the team from the Karlsruhe “Institute of Technology” (KIT) won in the “Driverless” category.
