TRE is one of the leading companies
in the field of chassis development
The heart and origin of TRE
Keke and Nico Rosberg
In 1997, Formula 1 World Champion Keke Rosberg came up with the idea of establishing a development center for the series development of chassis components in addition to the racing team. The racing engineers were thus able to make their expertise in chassis development and tuning available to major automakers.
Today, cooperation with series manufacturers accounts for about 90 percent of our work. Since 2008 we are a joint venture of Team Rosberg and IAV GmbH. IAV is headquartered in Berlin and employs more than 8,000 people worldwide.
This partnership enables us to draw on the resources of one of the world’s leading development partners to the automotive industry in Europe, America and Asia for many projects, so that we can offer our customers holistic development scopes and first-class know-how from a single source. Since 2018, Nico Rosberg has been very involved with TRE. After winning the Formula 1 World Championship in 2016, he ended his active driving career, which he had begun with Team Rosberg, among others.
Since then, Nico Rosberg has been a sustainability entrepreneur and investor, with a strong focus on mobility companies. His drive here is to drive positive change for society and humanity by promoting innovation and technological progress.
Under this maxim, he is an investor in a large number of successful startups. TRE also benefits from these impulses: In 2019, together with our partner Schaeffler, we developed the intelligent chassis for the fully electric autonomous Shuttle Mover which was awarded the German Mobility Prize.
