Schaeffler Mover with Corner Modules from TRE
Schaeffler Paravan Technology GmbH & Co. KG developed the Schaeffler Mover in cooperation with TRE: a small and very maneuverable, electrically driven, vehicle concept.
It features Space Drive technology, which allows the vehicle to move autonomously. The automatic track guidance, control andsteering, as well as braking and accelerating, are carried out via electrical pulses. On behalf of Schaeffler Paravan Technology, TRE developed the revolutionary corner modules that allow the vehicle to park sideways and turn on the spot.
The Schaeffler Mover has now been awarded the German Mobility Prize by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure and the “Germany – Land der Ideen” initiative.
“We need flashes of inspiration instead of debates on prohibition. Fresh ideas and smart innovations are the only way to win people’s hearts and minds. The 2019 Mobility Award shows how it’s done: smart applications made in Germany and new mobility offerings that inspire. Top!” said Federal Minister Scheuer at the award ceremony in Berlin.
“The concept succeeds in making a positive contribution to equal living conditions in Germany,” the jury said in praise of the innovation. “It also fundamentally challenges current vehicle structures.” The Schaeffler Mover was able to secure the prize ahead of 270 competitors.
Due to our cooperation in this innovative project, we are especially pleased about this award.
Our shareholder Nico Rosberg was already able to present this innovation at CES 2019 in Las Vegas.
Maybe we’ll see the Schaeffler Mover on the roads soon, too….
